Madras for the Months Ahead
Some people get a little funny when I mention madras. Personally, I’m a fan. I do, however, like it in its more subtle forms, as the pattern alone can make enough of a statement for most people. I would also pair the items separately, as to not have the overall madras effect, although some people can pull that off, I’ve never quite had the courage.
The jacket is easily worn with a chambray shirt, a pair of chinos and either bucks, saddle shoes, white sneakers, or boat shoes. Vest is similar, although if I was wearing the vest separately, I would probably pair it with the white sneakers or boat shoes. Pants I would wear with a plain t shirt or henley, oxford, or chambray shirt and the same sneakers or boat shoes (if jacket was necessary, it would be lightweight and navy).
This madras jacket, vest, and pants comes in a nice brown/off white coloring, courtesy of What Comes Around Goes Around. Everything is made from a lightweight Indian cotton madras. This is definitely madras in one of its more understated form. Corozo nut buttons add a nice wamrth and texture to each piece.
